How to Merge Distributor Quotes Using Disti Quote Merge (DQM)
Introduction
Disti Quote Merge (DQM) is a feature within the BoM tool that compares a distributor's quote against a customer's BoM and helps you align the two. It sits in the Assembling stage of quote building: once your vendor BoM is in place, DQM brings the distributor's pricing alongside it, reconciles differences, and carries a clean, agreed set of prices forward to pricing and ordering.
Instead of checking part numbers and prices line by line across two files, you load both into one grid and let DQM surface exactly what does not match.
This article explains:
- What DQM does and where it fits in quote building.
- How to open DQM and load a distributor BoM.
- The update modes available for applying distributor values.
- How to review and export the merged result.
Why This is Needed and Where it Fits in PqW Journey
Reconciling a distributor quote by hand is slow and easy to get wrong, and a single missed price or discount flows straight into the customer quote and your margin. DQM removes that manual pass:
- Fewer pricing errors reach the customer. DQM flags every mismatch in price, part number, discount, or terms before the quote moves forward, so you catch problems while they are still cheap to fix.
- Faster quote turnaround. Bulk actions apply distributor values across the whole BoM at once, so you reconcile a large quote in a single pass instead of editing dozens of lines by hand.
- Protected margin. Updating VAR cost and discount from the distributor's actual numbers keeps your margin calculation resting on current figures rather than stale ones.
- One reconciled view. Vendor and distributor data sit side by side in a single grid, so anyone who picks up the quote sees the same agreed prices.
Prerequisites
Before using Disti Quote Merge, ensure:
- An Opportunity or Quote is open in PqW with a Vendor BoM already imported.
- You have the Distributor Quote file saved on your computer (supported formats: Excel .xlsx / .csv).
What DQM does
DQM compares a distributor quote against your current BoM entries and helps you resolve the differences it finds. With DQM, you can:
- Compare the distributor quote with your existing BoM entries.
- Identify mismatches in pricing, part numbers, discounts, or terms.
- Update BoM items in bulk or selectively using intelligent actions.
- Filter, view, and export the merged data for downstream processing or customer communication.
Step-by-Step: How to Open DQM & Load a Distributor Quote
You open DQM from the BoM header.
-
From the BoM header, click Attach Disti button.
- On the upload page, upload the adjacent Disti BoM.
- Click Attach File to BoM.
DQM opens the grid. The left side shows the vendor BoM and the right side shows the Disti file, so you can compare the two side by side.

Update Modes
Once both BoMs are loaded, DQM gives you several ways to apply distributor values to your vendor BoM:
- Update Vendor BoM All- syncs all matching fields, including part number, quantity, list price, cost, and terms.
- Update Vendor BoM Prices updates only the pricing-related fields.
- Update Vendor Discount Only adjusts only the VAR discount and leaves all other fields untouched.
View and Export Options
DQM also gives you controls to review and export the merged data:
- View Errors: shows only the items whose pricing is mismatched.
- View All: shows every item that belongs to both BoMs.
- Export to Excel: exports the vendor BoM.
Summary
Disti Quote Merge gives you a single place to line up distributor pricing against your BoM, so part numbers, prices, discounts, and terms all agree before the quote moves downstream to ordering or customer communication.
What's Next
Once the distributor quote is merged, your vendor BoM reflects the reconciled part numbers, prices, discounts, and terms. From here you can carry on building the quote through the remaining steps toward ordering, knowing its pricing already matches the distributor's. You can also export the merged BoM at any point to share the reconciled pricing for downstream processing or customer communication.
